After seeing BladeRunner2049, I made a joking comment about the theatre being freezing cold to give us the experience of being in the film.

I went there a few weeks ago with an acquaintance of mine and was very, very disappointed. I did not go there with high hopes or expecting it to be really nice or the opposite, but I took it as it came. The only reason I am giving this business one star is because the theater was as shown in the pictures, the facility was clean/well maintained, and the film being shown was in good working order and there were no technical difficulties. But the service, or the staff I encountered was unprofessional and extremely rude. That brought a rather tense vibe to the supposed joyous atmosphere. I mean a day before I went there I phoned the theater to inquire about one or two things and the person on the phone was very draggy/rude/depressing/mumbling sounding and then hung up on me before I could ask my last question. Never has that happened to me, so that alone was unprofessional. So the movie was okay, but because of the service I will never go to that theater again, and will certainly not recommend it to any of the people I know. I will in-fact discourage the idea. P.S. Also they do not know the traditional way of making their affogato drink.

This is a terribly overpriced, and very poorly run theatre, with astoundingly rude staff. Do yourself a favour, and never set foot in this awful theatre!

Smaller rooms have a nice, cozy feel to them, and the larger auditoriums are great. Prices are really good, popcorn is great, and refills are free. Can't beat that.

I then mentioned two big marks/tears on their screen, and that the cold was messing up their projection. was interrupted with an ignorant assertion that there was nothing wrong with the projection, even though I mentioned that the heat rising from the projector through the ice-cold air in front of the lens was causing (wavy-heat) distortions on the entire left side of the screen...She interrupted again and told me I didn't know what I was talking about, then stared blankly when I asked if that was all she had to say.

I was ready to ignore the expensive ticket price, moldy smell, and not very decent picture quality but having a theatre with no heating is unacceptable, especially when it's -20 C outside. We had to wear our coats and still freezing. When the movie ended, I looked around and saw other people had their hats and gloves on.

The foolishly arrogant little blonde person behind the counter, who called herself the "manager", told me that I was wrong and insisted that the theatre was 72 degrees.

I wish I had read the reviews first. Looks like the heating was an issue even 2 years ago and nothing was done about it. On top of that, people got yelled at when they complained. It's such a disappointment when you think you are supporting a local independent theatre and the management does not care at all.

I'll never go back. It was freezing cold inside the theater and the screen was terrible. Thick vertical lines appearing on the screen all through the movie that ruined the whole experience.

We went to Kingsway Theatre for the first (and the last) time last week.

There's also a huge floor-grate in the centre cross-aisle that blows noisy ice-cold air, that's louder than the film during the quiet dialogue!
